I practice a holistic approach to integrative nutrition coaching

This means I look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship(s) cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect you and your health as a WHOLE. Scientists are just now realizing that cancer, diabetes, heart disease and obesity are not separate diseases but are just how your individual body manifests disease. It is all disease and you have the power to reverse a lot of it!

At each meeting we will go over one of the 12 sections in The Circle of Life tool. You will prioritize the order you want to explore deeper on each item, defining what you value most for your well-being. The topics that need the most attention should be addressed first so you can be mindful of implementing bigger changes in these areas. Also, this gives us time to re-visit them and see your progress. We will use these visions to motivate specific goals that bring you closer to where you want to be.. Together we will co-create your health goals within reasonable time frames. You will work on actionable objectives, replacing negative thoughts with positive actions that you can start to implement into your daily life.

I work with my clients to get in touch with their body’s needs because I understand that life happens and your needs will change over time. I want to equip you with the self-awareness to make the best decisions for yourself in any given circumstance. I believe each person is fully capable of making well-informed decisions as their own expert, you know your body better than anyone.

Ever wondered why some foods make you feel better than others? You will learn to strategically use that feedback in your food choices and recipes.

We will also explore the best exercises for you which is crucial to brain health and cognitive function. It has also been touted to be better than antidepressants without the bad side effects! Every body is different and requires different movement. Some people thrive on cardio or weight machines  and some prefer the slow flow of yoga and a calming hike through the wilderness. Remember as a kid having so much fun playing your favorite sport, not even realizing you were exercising? This is what we want to emulate. Exercise should not be thought of as a chore but an aspect of self care that once you start to see and feel the benefits, you crave it.

A daily practice of sustainability

The science has spoken and we need to listen. Our planet is in big trouble. I want to share what I have learned about the sustainability of our planet and how you can take a stand. I will show you simple ways small changes can make a huge difference. Bringing your own bags to the grocery store and ditching the plastic, meat and dairy are a great start. Did you know that methane from cows contributes 51% of greenhouse gasses? That’s more than cars, buses and airplanes! That their waste is a major polluter of our rivers and lakes, making them unsafe to enjoy? That it takes way more of our precious resources to grow a pound of beef vs. a pound of fruits or vegetables?
